The Panther and the Rose

November 12, 2021
@ 7 pm ET
Andrew Rader, countertenor
Christa Patton, harp, recorder & bagpipe

Experience the life and love of 14th century Italy. Medieval Italian music of the Trecento with voices, lute, harp, vielle, bagpipes, and more. Quirky, virtuosic, and expressive, this music challenges the ears with its rhythmic complexity at the same time that it soothes and amazes the heart with its melodic elegance and beauty. Our program includes motets, dances, ballatas, and madrigals by Johannes Ciconia, who wrote in both French and Italian styles; Francesco Landini, the organist known as ‘Francesco the Blind’; Donato da Firenze, and others.

This live in-person concert (postponed last year) is FREE! Patrons may also buy tickets for the virtual version which will be streamed December 1-January 1.
Downtown United Presbyterian Church 121 N. Fitzhugh Street, Rochester, NY

This free concert will last 75 minutes without intermission.
