Rosamund Morley
On treble, tenor and bass violas da gamba, and their medieval ancestors, Rosamund Morley has performed with many renowned ensembles as diverse as ARTEK, The Boston Camerata, The Crossing, Les Arts Florissants, Piffaro, The Venice Baroque Orchestra, and Sequentia. She studied viola da gamba in Toronto and at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague; her early love of the viol was nurtured by the privilege of performing on the Hart House historic viol collection at the University of Toronto. She is a member of Parthenia, New York’s premiere consort of viols, with whom she plays both early and contemporary music, and for many years she toured worldwide with the Waverly Consort. She is a sought-after teacher and has been the Music Director for the Viola da Gamba Society of America and for the Viols West Workshop at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California.
