Robin Wilson

Robin Wilson lectures in violin and pedagogy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, having previously served on the faculties of the Australian Institute of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts. Robin studied with James Buswell at The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Alice Waten at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney and has worked with Janet Davies, Felix Andrievsky and David Takeno. He holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in performance and is currently undertaking a PhD from the University of Sydney. Robin has given recitals throughout Australia and New Zealand, is Concertmaster of the ARCO Chamber Orchestra and has performed with groups such as the Sydney Omega Ensemble, Nexus and Ironwood, whilst playing regularly with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded two solo discs of encores (Decca and Ode Records) and Schubert’s complete sonatas for violin and piano that was recently nominated for Classical Disc of the Year at the New Zealand Music Awards.
