Rachel Evans

Rachel Evans earned both Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Julliard School of Music. She has performed in a variety of ensembles, including the Santa Fe Opera; String Fever, a jazz string group; Continuum contemporary music ensemble; and the Meridian Quartet. For her chamber music work, she was a recipient of the Coleman Chamber Music Award.

As an early musician, she has performed medieval music around the world with Sequentia, and performed with La Stravaganza Köln in Europe. She has played baroque music with some of the country’s top ensembles including Apollo’s Fire, Concert Royal, Washington Consort, the Dryden Ensemble, Publick Musick, Rebel, the New York Collegium, and Foundling. She has played with the Carmel Bach Festival for seven years, and appeared at the Boston and Berkeley Early Music Festivals, and the Victoria Festival in Australia. Last year she performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with Foundling in Providence, Rhode Island.

She can be heard on more than twenty recordings, from new music with Continuum to medieval music with Sequentia. She plays a copy of an Amati violin made by Roger Hargrave of Bremen, Germany.
